How to Build a Project in openEHR CKM¶
This page describes a typical workflow.
1. Define the scope¶
Identify:
- Clinical domain
- Stakeholders
- Governance model
- Target implementations
2. Create the governance structure¶
Define:
- Editors
- Clinical reviewers
- Technical reviewers
- Publication rules
3. Develop archetypes¶
Create or reuse archetypes whenever possible.
Recommended steps:
- Search existing CKM repositories
- Reuse mature archetypes
- Create missing archetypes
- Submit them for review
4. Build templates¶
Templates combine archetypes to support a specific use case.
Examples:
- Laboratory report
- Vital signs form
- Oncology dataset
- PROM questionnaire
5. Manage terminology¶
Maintain:
- Value sets
- Terminology subsets
- Bindings to SNOMED CT, LOINC or ICD
6. Publish and maintain¶
Once the project matures:
- Publish artefacts
- Document decisions
- Track versions
- Manage change requests
